Codeep V3 is one release across three surfaces, so the three carry one number: the CLI moves 2.25.0 → 3.0.0, this extension 2.9.0 → 3.0.0, and the Mac app 1.14.0 → 3.0.0. Nothing here is a breaking change — the major is the alignment, said out loud rather than left to look like an accident.

wrote one — the extension runs the CLI, and the CLI has recorded reads, writes and refusals since 2.22.0. What was missing was any way to read it without leaving VS Code.
The command opens the project's record as a Markdown preview, newest run first. Ordinary work is summarised by kind, because a run that read forty files should be one line — and every refusal is listed individually, because a tool call the capability boundary turned down is the entry the record exists for and must never be buried among the forty.
The files are read directly rather than through the CLI. A subprocess for what is a directory of JSON lines would be slower, fail differently when the CLI is missing, and put a second copy of the format in an argument list. The format is shared on purpose: a record written by the Mac app reads here unchanged, and vice versa.
